Stick It Out ("we", "us", or "our"), created by Michael Staus and operated in collaboration with Blaze Digital Design, provides an online drum training platform, educational materials, and a computer vision motion analysis tool.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, process, store, and protect your information when you visit stickitoutdrums.com, access the member training portal at member.stickitoutdrums.com, or use our video analysis features. We believe in minimal data collection and complete transparency.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide you with drum training, progress tracking, and computer vision coaching:

• Account Information: Your email address for passwordless magic link authentication, optional display name, drum kit configuration, and self-reported playing level.
• Practice Logs and Performance Metrics: Records of practice sessions, including rudiment patterns practiced, metronome tempos, practice duration, clean hit streaks, and earned medal levels.
• Computer Vision Video and Sensor Data: Video recordings uploaded or captured using your device camera for technique analysis. From these recordings, our analyzer extracts skeletal pose landmark coordinates (wrists, elbows, shoulders, stick tips) and audio transient hit timings.
• Referral Attribution Data: If you visit the site via an affiliate or referral link, we store a first-party tracking identifier in a cookie to attribute your signup.
• Technical Log Data: Standard server logs, IP addresses, browser types, and error diagnostics required for security and service reliability.

3. Video Data Retention and Analysis Pipeline

Your privacy during video capture is our utmost priority:

• Temporary Raw Video Storage: Uploaded video files are processed in an isolated analyzer environment. Raw video files are automatically purged within 72 hours of upload.
• Permanent Performance Metadata: Extracted metrics, such as overall score, tempo, hand balance ratio, and coaching focus directives, are saved to your member profile in our secure database so you can track your improvement over time.
• No Biometric Identification: We do not use facial recognition or biometric identity profiling. Pose detection maps joint positions solely to evaluate stick heights, grip dynamics, and stroke geometry.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your data strictly to operate and enhance the platform:

• To authenticate your identity and deliver single-use magic login links.
• To maintain your practice history, custom schedules, and medal progress.
• To compute computer vision coaching evaluations and deliver drill recommendations.
• To track partner referrals through our affiliate system.
• To protect our infrastructure from automated abuse and unauthorized access.

We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal information or training data to third parties. We do not use third-party behavioral advertising trackers.

5. Third-Party Infrastructure Providers

We rely on trusted enterprise infrastructure providers to host and secure our platform:

• Cloudflare: Edge compute (Workers), relational database (D1), object storage (R2), and media streaming services.
• Resend: Delivery of transactional emails, including magic login links.
• IONOS: Static hosting for the marketing frontend.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use a minimal set of cookies designed purely for platform function:

• sio_member and sio_admin: Secure, HTTP-only session cookies used to keep you logged in to your account.
• sio_ref: A first-party referral cookie (60-day expiration) storing an affiliate code to credit partners when new members join.

We do not load third-party ad retargeting pixels or cross-site tracking scripts.

Stick It Out is designed for drummers aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information, contact us and we will delete the data immediately.
